Overdubbing
Overdubbing (the process of making an overdub, or overdubs) is a technique used in audio recording, whereby a performer listens to an existing recorded performance and simultaneously plays a new performance along with it, which is also recorded. The intention is that the final mix will contain a combination of these "dubs".
This article describes certain configuration used to overdub keyboards over an existing mp3 music.
The default playback is set to computer speakers.
We will record our karaoke session using "stereo mix".
To record our session in separate track, we load background music file in first track, position cursor at the beginning and press record button. Audacity will play the music and in the same time record the sound from keyboards into new track.
