One of the vital parts of the turntable is the tone arm. Equipped with cartridge and needle it is a part that will read the contents of an LP.

In a cheap model like this one it may often come from the factory in a dismantled state. The measured characteristic of tonearm in question is 3,08 g, which
is a common weight, they usually weight 2 to 4 grams. The heavier will
wear your LP more, while the lighter may have troubles following the
groove.
With
a simple trick consisting of putting an additional weight upon the
needle we were able to rip the track that was skipping. Pictured is a
skipping track before and after the trick.
Other
unwanted effects that may originate from the tone arm is low frequency
rumble.
As a cheap turntable made of plastic will be viable to
vibrations, it is also of some importance that the machine will be
placed in a stable environment.
